This site is operated by Sanford DeRose Trial Lawyers, LLP, which does business as Bulldog Business. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean the firm. If you and the firm sign an engagement agreement, that agreement controls wherever it differs from these terms.

Information, not legal advice

The content on this site is general information about the firm and the work it does. It isn’t legal advice, it may not be complete or current, and the law differs from one place and situation to the next. Don’t act on anything here without advice from a lawyer licensed where you are, about your own facts.

When an attorney–client relationship begins

Visiting this site, reading its content, sending the consultation form, contacting us or speaking with us in a consultation doesn’t make you our client. An attorney–client relationship begins only when all three of these have happened:

• We’ve completed a conflict check.
• We’ve agreed to take on your matter.
• You and the firm have signed a written engagement agreement.

What to send us before then

Until we’ve confirmed in writing that we represent you, please don’t send us confidential or sensitive information about your matter. Information you send before then may not be treated as confidential or privileged, and it won’t stop us from representing someone else in the same matter.

Contacting us doesn’t pause any deadline or statute of limitations. If your matter has a deadline, you remain responsible for it until we’ve agreed in writing to represent you.

Professional disclosures

Our disclaimer covers attorney advertising, the firm’s trade names, where our attorneys are licensed and how to read past results. It’s part of these terms.

Using the site

You may use this site only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

• Try to gain unauthorized access to the site or the systems behind it.
• Interfere with how the site works, or send it malicious code or automated traffic.
• Copy or scrape the site’s content in bulk.
• Send us false information, or information about another person without their permission.

Our content and names

The text, illustrations and design of this site belong to the firm or its licensors and are protected by copyright. You may view and print pages for your own reference. You may not change them, remove any notices, or use them commercially without our written permission.

The Bulldog Business name and wordmark are the firm’s, and these terms don’t grant you any right to use them. You may link to this site, as long as the link doesn’t suggest that we endorse you; we may ask you to remove a link at any time.

If this site links to another website, the link is there for convenience only. We don’t control other sites and aren’t responsible for their content or practices.

No warranties

We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we provide it “as is” and “as available,” and you use it at your own risk. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the firm isn’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of this site or your reliance on its content. This section doesn’t apply to legal services the firm provides under an engagement agreement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about these terms or this site will be resolved only in the state or federal courts located in Ohio.

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
